Pioneer Woman Syndrome

So I have been reading Bakerella's blog and found myself questioning her absolute addiction (for want of a better word) over the Pioneer Woman. I had to admit to myself that I just didn't get it. Then in my early days of blogging I came across someone elses blog that seemed to be wholly addicted to the boots the Pioneer Woman wore to her signing of her book. Again, I just didn't get it.

But today, I found myself in the car with my three dear boys, sister and niece, driving to Orange, NSW an hour and a half away looking at the country side and on a planned adventure to just do some shopping cause I just haven't spent enough money on the after Chrismas sales (oh yeh, and that's where the in-laws live so I was taking the boys to see them). I bought a few things for the house I'm getting built. Check out the funky photoframe made up from folded magazines and I finally managed to find the red canisters from KMart.
So we shopped and we went into homeware shops, book shops, clothing stores etc etc. And that's when I saw it. The Pioneer Woman Cooks. I found myself sneering. I honestly did. But I picked it up and had a quick look through it. Fascinating! Inspiring! I found myself thinking that I have to have this book. Looked at the price..... $50 AUS.... Um, no thanks.

How could I get this book? Amazon! So I will order it and it will be mine... And around 2am I did exactly that. It's coming!

And the cost? Well I'm actually
getting two of them for less than $50.

And I couldn't help myself cause I've ordered something quilty. The book Scrap Basket Surprises had so many quilts that I liked.
I'm glad that Amazon allows a sneak peak.

And then something for the classroom. I've read about the book The Important Book and always wanted to purchase it.

  1. My daughter would love your red cannister. She is also building a new home and guess what colour the kitchen is, Black/White with Red accesseries. Must tell her about KMart.

Your "Scrap Basket Surprises" book looks good but I do not need another quilt pattern. Do I!!!
